Samsung Ativ Book 9 Spin, 13.3 inch, 1300 grams (2.87 lbs) The Ativ Book 9 Spin is Samsung's first ever convertible notebook with a high resulution anti-glare 3200x1800 display (QHD+) with 360 degree rotation. This will go into competition with similar types of devices from Toshiba, HP, Lenovo, Microsoft, Dell and others. So with the 360 degrees it is multi mode and has a slim, aluminium body weighing 1.3kg.
Lenovo Yoga 900 13ISK, 13.3 inch, 1270 grams (2.8 lbs) Lenovo's revitalised lineup includes the Yoga 900 which is a 13.3 inch powerhouse with an i7 6500U processor that turbos to 3.1GHz (TDP 15W high frequency and 7.5W low), 8GB of RAM, high res screen at 3200x1800, marvellous looking 360 degree hinge system and large 256GB SSD for starters - of course it will come with a large price as well (around 1800 euros)! It will have a bit of competition from Dell XPS 13, Toshiba Kirabook and Asus UX305 for instance.
Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga 260, 12.5 inch, 1300 grams (2.87 lbs) The Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga 260 is an update of last years versatile model and has a 12.5-inch display where you can choose either 1366x768 or 1920x1080 resolutions as well as up to 16GB RAM and up to 512GB storage. It still has its 360 degree hinge and trackpad (as well as the red trackpoint cap) of the originals of course. The cpu options start at a Intel Core i3-6100U Skylake with choices up to the i7-6600U available.
Asus ASUSPRO Advanced BU201, 12.5 inch, 1270 grams (2.8 lbs) Asus ultra light and mobile, secure and durable business laptop (Windows 8.1 Pro 64 bit or Windows 7 options). Enhanced security with Trusted Platform Module and fingerprint reader, vPro. Extra-strict ASUS reliability testing to military standards, durable carbon-fiber-reinforced LCD cover construction, tough anti-shock hard drive protects data and spill-resistant keyboard protects from occasional spillages.
Acer Aspire Switch 12, 12.5 inch, 1200 grams (2.65 lbs) The Acer Aspire Switch 12 runs on Intel's Core-M platform with the HD 5300 GPU. This hybrid device has a detachable keyboard and can be used as a tablet or as a laptop. It has 4GB of RAM and 60GB/128GB of SSD storage. Note that the detachable keyboard does not feature a touchpad but offers a trackpoint and can operate remotely via RF. A total weight of 1.4KG is not the best in class but pricing looks attractive so this may be an option for those looking for a low-cost hot-desking solution. The Acer Aspire 12 is slightly heavier than some of the other 12.5-inch 2in1 devices but starts at a slightly lower price. Good SSD speeds. A large range of usage scenarios are enabled by the design.
Sony VAIO Flip 13, 13.3 inch, 1310 grams (2.89 lbs) The Sony VAIO fit is a interesting Convertible Laptop. At 1.3kg with a 13.3" Screen you can use the touchscreen comfortably at your lap. It has an optional active digitizer, which is not included at default. The touchscreen registers up to 10 fingers. We like the Full HD resolution aswell as the 8GB of RAM. It features a dual webcams - a 8MP camera on the back and a not further specifed HD Webcam on the front. Note that the screen uses the so called 'Triluminous Display' technology for richer colours and contrasts.
Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro, 13.3 inch, 1400 grams (3.09 lbs) The Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro is markedly thinner and lighter than the Yoga 13 that started this 360-degree fold-back segment. An incredibly high resolution screen is the highlight. MicroHDMI and only two USB ports are disappointing. Great keyboard and battery life.
Samsung ATIV Q, 13.3 inch, 1290 grams (2.84 lbs) The Samsung ATIV Book Q is a hybrid with a completely new design, QuadHD+ (3200×1800) and weighing 1.2KG. Based on Haswell it should offer a lot of performance and great battery life. It comes with a dual operating system. Windows 8 and Android are provided with seamless switching making this a unique proposition at launch.
